In an effort to provide greater access to lifeline services for those who have no other transportation options, Easy Lift Transportation is proud to introduce a new pilot program for same day rides, Dial-A-Ride Direct.
The program restricts eligible trips to individuals who find themselves in need of unforeseen same-day transportation to lifeline services such as medical appointments, prescription pickups and nutrition sites.
The program is limited to current Easy Lift ADA approved passengers or by referral only. The program provides trips within an additional two-mile radius (for a total of 2 ¾ miles) of the fixed route boundary.
DAR Direct is a one year funded pilot program that has been developed to address specific trends:
- Medical appointments have become increasingly difficult to schedule, last minute openings are a crucial opportunity.
- Prescription pick-up and drop-offs are a challenge for individuals to schedule in advance. Most of the time, medication is needed immediately.
- Adequate access to nutrition is pivotal to a healthy lifestyle.
Please call (805) 880-3400 Monday- Friday 7am-4pm for more information on how to use this service.
